Community Development

The community development program seeks to enhance our community by assisting local residents to respond to issues in positive ways that serve to create lasting change and improve day to day living conditions. As well, residents increase their confidence to participate in broader society including various opportunities for civic engagement. The program helps to reduce social isolation and build a sense of community and personal competence.

This program seeks to provide developmental supports, information and services to groups of residents or emerging groups in order that they can better address their needs or the needs of their community, as well as increase their civic participation and integration into broader society. It is not intended to provide permanent long-term services, and therefore serves to facilitate communities in developing their own appropriate response to their identified need.
