Cross Cultural Women & Girls' Space

We are supporting the development of a women and girls' space in the former City of York by acting as trustee and providing support to a local group of women who are providing leadership to this initiative. The need for such a women's space was identified in the report "If Low Income Women of Colour Counted in Toronto" by Toronto Women's Network, in which our women's group had been a participant in the consultation process. Currently the project has been offering programming in various locations around York, such as:

  • Drop-in groups for women
  • Film Nights
  • All day events with food, dancing, recreational and educational activities, etc
  • Leadership Training workshops
  • Leadership development
  • Trips to events and happenings around Toronto of interest to women
  • International Women's Day activities

For more information, please leave a message at our Keele office at 416-652-2273, and one of the project co-ordinators will return your call.
